"Prove me now herewith." God is actually giving permission for a controlled scientific experiment of whether tithing works (and by extension whether God exists). Why don't some fundamentalists do this? It shouldn't be hard. A bunch of Christians keep accounts for a year of tithing, and then a year of non-tithing. If they're no better during the year of tithing, God either doesn't exist or has lied. If they find a statistical correlation that they are better off for tithing, I'll shut up. The pastor said that is could accept credit and debit, but they choose to only accept debit. I never carry a checkbook or cash anymore so it works for me. :-) What can I say, I kind of a geek!
