Questioning the established way of doing things leads to better and better methods. Computing turned the world on its head. People were incredibly resistant to it, going so far as to even say that they wouldn't believe that anyone would want one in their homes. I don't think it's a stretch to say that personal computers, coupled with the internet, has advanced humanity more in one leap than anything ever before. It's all because someone thought "well, there has to be a better way to do this." Exactly. Questioning the established way of doing things leads to better and better methods. Computing turned the world on its head. People were incredibly resistant to it, going so far as to even say that they wouldn’t believe that anyone would want one in their homes.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that personal computers, coupled with the internet, has advanced humanity more in one leap than anything ever before. It’s all because someone thought “well, there has to be a better way to do this.”

The problem with traditions is that they put people in a box and stop them from re-thinking the fairness of the practice. If we were traditional, slavery would still be lawful. Err, I mean 100 years ago, when women didn't have the right to vote. Oh wait, I think I mean 150 years ago when we brutally slaughtered the indigenous population with biological warfare and by outright lying to their faces. Well, this is embarrassing. Surely I mean 200 years ago when people owned other human beings as property. So wait, what was I talking about again? If only we could return to traditional moral values:
